Q: Replacing Radio in 2005 Chevy Venture van?
My brother replaced the radio in his 2005 Chevy Venture, and it doesn't work at all. I looked online at the installation instructions and it looks pretty easy (constant power, switched power, and a ground wire). Radio is a Pioneer DEHP2900. Is there any technical reason this won't work that I'm not seeing, like anti-theft or something? I see he "should" have this adapter so his chime will still work, but at this point I need to find out why the radio won't come on (it won't even turn on right now). I haven't had a chance to look at it yet, but will in a couple days.
A: I just had a Pioneer DEH-P6700 professionally installed in my 04 Silverado. While the owner of the installin shop explained that the 02 and later models needed to have this hi $$$ adapter installed w/ it. In order to make all of the bells and whisles work/function correctly.
Are you sure the radio circuit did not go into LOC (theftlock) mode??? If so, or you not sure check out the link below.
Good luck!
Q: what is the recommended service for Chevy Venture (2005) \with 30,000 miles?
A: basically, an oil change, brake inspection, transmission service (fluid and filter change), air filter and cabin filter (if applicable) and gas filter. If you need brakes, then have them done. 30,000 miles is a good time to definetely check front and backs.
the rest is moreorless inspections of hoses, belts, lights, cv axles, cables, etc.. it's really a waste of money for the dealer to do this. Even if you don't work on cars or know nothing about them except how to drive, you can do the basic inspections yourself (i.e. wiper blades, do they work? do you have enough washer fluid?, wash your own windows and vacuum out the car yourself, check the air pressure yourself).
a tuneup isn't necessary until 60,000 miles, although the manual probably says 100,000 miles, plugs while they probably might last that long, it could prove to be extremely difficult to remove them from the soft aluminum head with that many miles.
Q: 2000 & 2005 Chevy Ventures, CD players get REAL HOT?
I have 2 Chevy Ventures. 2000 & 2005. CD player gets REAL HOT, skips & quits playing. Worse in the 2005. The player will say the CD is defective and eject a blazing hot disk. Seems to be a consistant problem. Anyone have any answers? Thanks.
A: I have a few GM vehicles and they come equipped with similar CD players as your Ventures, and the CD's in my vehicles come out pretty hot as well. Make sure you don't have thick labels on your CD's being played (If you make a CD on your computer and stick a label on it) as that will make them heat up as well. Also, there is a fan built-in to the back of the unit. If you start the CD player and listen to it for a while, turn the volume down and see if you can hear the little fan running. The best way to check for this is to sit in the car with it running while the CD is playing, then turn the volume down. Now, with GM's cars today, you have to open the door before the stereo will shut off. So, after you've been playing the CD, shut the car off and then after a few seconds of listening, stop the CD but don't eject it (push the "FM" button). The fan should still remain running, then after a few more seconds, open the door. The fan should shut off after you do that. If it's not working, you're stuck. Buy a new CD player or deal with it, that's all I can tell you. Good Luck!
Q: The Speedometer and gas gauge have stopped working while I was driving.?
I have a Chevy Venture 2005, after I had been coming home from going to the Ozarks (3 hours from my house). I was wondering what could possible correct this problem. After I had got home, about a half hour after wards, I turned the key between the off and on positions on the ignition till the gauges moved back to normal.
A: HI!
First off. Please Ignore the other answers as they are all WRONG.
You have no Cable to operate your Speedometer. it is all electronic ( and i do not mean digital ! ) The Speed Sensor could not be at fault for this type of Problem either!
I have seen this Many Many times in Chevy , Gmc Buick Pontiac Etc vehicles.
The Problem lies in the Speedometer Cluster. These Clusters made after 2000 have Stepper Motors to drive all the gauges. The Tachometer and Speedometer are the Most prone to failure as they are used the most!
It is best to have the Instrument Cluster Removed and Repaired or Replaced. A junkyard Replacement is ok but make sure you get a guarantee.
I pull at least one cluster a week and repair them for this same sort of problem!
I hope this helps Good Luck!
Q: Is the Chevy Venture,Silhouette, and Montana good minivans?
GM minivans 1997-2005
A: not really. Everytime I read tests in any magazine, they came last or very close.
Chrysler makes a better product.
The two best minivans are consistently The Toyota Sienna and Honda Odyssey. They are really worth it, really ahead of any other company.
good luck in your minivan shopping.
Q: President LE tire made by Peerless. Are these good?
I have a 2005 chevy venture that is customized into an entervan. For medical reasons. Someone said the Presdient LE tire made by peerless would be good for my van. What do you think?
A: They may be recommended because they are cheap but I would search for a tire that has a higher treadwear, temp, and traction ration if it were me. You can find all of these in bargain tires with a better brand name. (Kumho, Nankook, etc) Also STAY AWAY from walmart tires. They may say goodtear on them but they actually are a "club" tire. Meaning that the tires are made especially for wal-mart and do not adhere to the same design specs as other goodyear tires. Douglas tires are junk as well.
Q: What tires should I get for my 2005 chevy venture....These are 2 I found maybe 3?
What tires should I get for my 2005 chevy venture....These are 2 I found maybe 3?
Viva 2
micheline symmetry
or maybe Goodyear Assurance TripleTred if I have enough money. Can you tell me about the viva and smmetry and which one you would choose between them and then choose between that one and the tripletred. I really need the help! Explaination why would be really great too :)
A: On our family van, we always have michelin tires. They seem to wear not so fast and last a long time. The warranties are pretty good too (ours usually have around 60,000 miles warranty) in which time any problems that aren't caused by you (manufacturer defects) and such are repaired promptly. We've driven the van through plenty of rain and bad weather and michellin seems to out last all of it. I think if you go with michelin you wont be disappointed at all. Never really heard of viva. Goodyear is good too, but they are expensive. Id say for the price you cant really beat a good set of michelin tires.

A: I have had Michelin Symmetry before on another car and I have had both brands on previous cars and trucks. I prefer Mich. over the Goodyear. The Mich. offers good ride over time and the will wear great. I put over 30k miles on the Symmetry's and they still looked great. I believe Michelins are a better value over the long run.

A: this is one of the problems the radio power is constant from the ignition switch
but the radio accesory comes from the vehicle BCM
( body control module)
this is not a power that you can tap on or get power from that wire ,in this orange wire there is also a lot of data information
what you are doing in that vehicle is a very bad idea don't cut corner in this radio installation go buy the correct plug for it
the harness is not only for the chime to work it also is for all the vehicle warnings
the low fuel is not going to work the airbags light will turn on soon and sometimes the cluster stops working
it is best to buy the correct harness and save all the headaches that this vehicle is going to give you
this is the plug you need

A: For a brand new, cheap Chinese made tire, President is good as long as one doesn't buy a used tire which was recalled for safety issues during the summer.
