Q: Chevy Venture 2000 LS engine underheating?
I have a 2000 Chevy Venture LS. Since about a year ago, the engine seems to underheat especially during winter when the car takes 4-7 miles local driving to get to operating temperature. Is this a problem, and how it could be fixed?

A: I had the same problem and the repair was to change the thermostat. When the dealer took out the OLD ONE, it looked perfect. Its hard to check it out of the car and the $12.00 replacement was worth it. Now I get heat in 2 miles and the indicator goes to the middle once again. Also, I have good heat.

Q: What is the whining noise from the transmission in a 2000 Chevy Venture?
This tranny whines loudly in 3rd & 4th gears only. It starts around 35 MPH but goes away when you let off the gas. I changed the fluid and filter and added Lucas Trans additive. There was nothing unusual in the pan but the fluid was brown like old motor oil. This van has 113,000 miles on it, is this trans junk?

A: from the sounds of it, it will be junk soon. I had a car that did that. One day, it just locked up and never ran again. I'd start shopping around for a new vehicle.

Q: How do I program my 2000 chevy venture keyless entry?
I've tried the answers listed for the 2003, it doesn't seem to work. I know I can take it to the dealer. But I really don't want to. Thanks in advance for your help! I don't need an upgrade... It already has keyless entry, just need to re-program my remotes!

A: you have to take it to the nearest chevy dealer and get an upgrade in the body shop/ parts shop. it will run you up about $2,000.00

Q: How can "I" flush the coolant system on a 2000 Chevy Venture?
I'm not sure how to open the petcock on the radiator. It has some type of safety wings on it. Also some idjit put quite a bit of stop leak in the rad about 50,000 miles ago instead of replacing the intake gaskets, which I just did.

A: 1. Park the vehicle on a level surface. 2. Remove and clean the coolant recovery reservoir. Caution: Do not remove the radiator cap while the cooling system is hot. Serious personal injury may result. Only remove the radiator cap from a cool engine. 3. Remove the radiator cap when the engine is cool: 3.1. Slowly rotate the cap counterclockwise to the detention tab. Do not press down while rotating pressure cap. 3.2. Wait until any residual pressure (indicated by a hissing sound) is relieved. 3.3. After all hissing stops, press down on the radiator cap and rotate the cap counterclockwise in order to remove the cap. Important: Recover and store used coolant in a used coolant holding tank and submit the used coolant for recycling on a regular basis. Do NOT pour used coolant down the drain! Ethylene glycol antifreeze is very toxic. Disposing of ethylene glycol into the sewer system or ground water is both illegal and ecologically unsound! Place a drain pan under the radiator drain valve in order to collect all of the used coolant. 4. Open the radiator drain valve located at the bottom of the radiator tank. If only partial cooling system draining is required, drain enough coolant to perform the procedure. 5. Open the air bleed valve on the thermostat housing two full turns. 6. Place a drain pan under the engine block drains in order to collect the used coolant. Important: Allow the coolant to drain completely. 7. Remove both of the engine block drains. The front (left) engine block drain is located between the starter motor and the engine oil filter. The rear (right) engine block drain is located near the crankshaft position sensor.

Q: price of replacing piping to cooling system on 2000 chevy venture ?
I have piping that has rusted through on the cooling system. Was wondering approximate cost of replacing?

A: all the parts on your radiator are either copper or aluminum, and the 'piping' is usually rubber, not steel or iron, so they do not rust-they can of course corrode, however that is another question-get a shop that specializes in cooling systems, to check it out, this sort of thing is best left to the pros,

Q: know where to get window wiring for 2000 chevy venture for free?
driver side window button will not work either side. if you wire it directly to a battery it will go up and down I 've bought 3 window switches 2 new, one used. very flustrating

A: you may went to check your wring in between the door there might be some broken wires i had that happen to me on a 90 van

Q: I have a 2000 Chevy Venture van with two years left to pay.?
Can I take it to a dealer and rework the financing into a different, more economical vehicle?

A: you can, but you better find out what your pay-off is. Knowing that number is extremely important. If you did not put any money down at the time of purchase, you may owe more than its worth. And any amount left over will be rolled into the new car price.

Q: 2000 Chevy venture vent problem?
there is minimal air coming out of the vents (for the a/c & heat) in the passanger cabin of my 2000 chevy venture, even when the fan setting is on 5. Most of the air is coming out of the windshield defroster. It doesn't matter what setting I use (windshield, face, feet, both). the air output doesn't change. What could be the problem?

A: most likely cause is a vacuum leak. a vacuum hose is probably broken in the engine compartment.

Q: 2000 chevy venture tracking control light is on what could be wrong?

A: I take it you mean traction control well if the abs light is on then the abs problem will cause the trac light to come on if not then there is a fault code in the engine computer you will need to scan the computer to find the cause of the problem

Q: How do you program a Keyless remote transmitter for 2000 Chevy Venture Van?
Sometimes it is called a Key FOB

A: Ask and ye shall receive. This is the only way to program Key FOB's, aka: Transmitters for your vehicle....no special tools required. Transmitter Programming If you lose a transmitter, program the old and new transmitter(s) into the remote control door lock receiver's memory. Up to 4 transmitters may be programmed. Important Once the remote control door lock receiver enters the programming/diagnostic mode, the programming of the first transmitter erases all previous transmitter programming information, requiring the programming of all transmitters. Program only 1 vehicle remote control door lock receiver at a time. If more than 1 receiver is being programmed at the same time, it is possible that the same transmitter could be programmed to more than 1 remote control door lock receiver. Perform the following steps in order to program the transmitter: Remove the ignition key from the ignition lock cylinder. Remove the BCM PRGRM fuse from the fuse panel.(Passenger side of dash) Close all of the doors. Close the liftgate. Turn the ignition lock cylinder to ACC. Turn the ignition lock cylinder to OFF, and then back to ACC within 1 second. Open and close any vehicle door. A chime will be heard when the system enters the BCM programming/diagnostic mode. Important :Durring programming After 7 seconds, a chime may be heard confirming successful synchronization. It is necessary to wait approximately 14 seconds for a second chime that will confirm successful programming. Press and hold the transmitter LOCK and UNLOCK buttons simultaneously for 14 seconds. Repeat the previous step on each additional transmitter to be programmed. Remove the ignition key from the ignition lock cylinder. Install the BCM PRGRM fuse back into the fuse panel. Refer to Fuse Block in Wiring Systems.

Q: 2000 Chevy Venture Nuetral Safety Switch?
I have a 2000 venture van, I am trying to install a new nuetral safety switch. The instructions say the new unit is bound with a steel pin to align with nuetral on the transmission - I can find no steel pin, athough it is bound. Before I install it I would like to know how to remove the mystery steel pin, and any other pointers would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

A: SOMETIMES IT HAS A PIN BUT NOT ALL WAYS JUST INSTALL AND MAKE SURE NUETRAL IS NUETRAL AND PARK IS PARK AND WILL START IN JUST THOSE GEARS.

Q: Does the 2000 chevy venture have a sending unit access panel?

A: Which sending unit are you referring to? The fuel level sensors do not, you have to remove the fuel tank to get to them. The oil pressure sending unit is screwed into the engine near the starter and it doesn't have a access panel either. I dont know of other sending units on this car, so you may have to ask again and actually give some details.

Q: how can i fix a automatic sliding door. I cant get the buttons to open it. 2000 chevy venture?

A: Try and replace the battery in the remote (if your talking about the button on the remote) and reprogram it. should be easy call your deal and ask how to reprogram your key fob. If your talking about the button inside of veh check your fuses (on second thought) check the fuses either way for both key fob and inside button. Other than that call and ask a service advisor at your local shop how to reprogram you auto sliding doors. I know there are a couple ways on fords but I dont know how on Chevys. Good Luck
