Q: Where can I find a wire adapter for a 2005 Chevy Trailblazer.?
I want to put a new stereo in my 2005 Trailblazer but cannot find a wire adapter (harness?) to go on it. Evidently I need a special one that splits to the stereo and to the door dinger. A: please do not cut the wires. Your vehicle will be a little bit different than a simple harness. Your factory radio interfaces with the door chime and onstar. Q: Why is my 2005 Chevy Trailblazer making a humming noise upon ignition and acceleration?
And also the speedometer is stuck on 100 mph.

A: Without hearing the humming noise its hard to say. But I can tell you they had trouble with the water pump bearings and also with the fan clutches going out on the newer trailblazers. As far as the speedo being stuck on 100, thats a problem inside the cluster that requires replacement of the cluster and programming it to fix. There were some recalls on various clusters from 02 on. Id take it to a GM dealer and see if they might warranty it and have them check out that noise as well. Good Luck.

Q: What is the battery under the seat in a 2005 chevy trailblazer for?
I'm trying to hook up the sound ststem in my truck and wanted to see if i could hook it up to the battery that's under the seat. i don't have power seats.

A: Under the driver side rear seat is the rear power distribution box. The body control module is also mounted there.

I have an appointment today to have the linear pulley replaced for the whining. This morning I heard a rattling sound when I started it, is that caused by the linear pulley or do I have another problem? I'm having my idler pulley replaced

A: Before you do anything, take your TrailBlazer to a reputable mom-and-pop mechanic in the local area. Avoid the dealer unless the vehicle is still under warranty -- dealerships charge top dollar and do crappy work. You want to be 100% sure it's the fuel pump before you invest any money in it, and it may be a number of other things (sounds like an electrical problem to me). If it is the fuel pump, you're looking at around $400.00 for the fuel pump plus the labor to replace it. The TrailBlazer has an in-tank fuel pump, so be prepared to pay $600.00 to $800.00 for labor.

A: I have to agree with windowman, particularly since you don't mention the height and width...could be a lot more hassle getting it in and out of the Trailblazer as opposed to a pick up.

Q: I have a 2005 chevy trailblazer. what kind of oil can i use to go the longest miles without changing it?
what is the safest amount of miles you can go without changing it? what kind of oil do u reccommend. its winter time here so i dont know if that matters for thinness of the oil. Please help. I am 17. its a 4.2 L6 & Takes 7 quarts of oil. I heard some one say Mobil 1??? but im not sure. Thank You.

A: Mobil 1 has an extended drain interval formula, its a full synthetic with a stronger additive package to allow for longer drain intervals. Still I would change it every 7-10K though the oil can go longer than that. Summer or winter you are safe with 5W-30.

A: No your cd's are fine. CD-R Is correct,. doesnt matter what brand or how cheap. My fiancee owns a car auio store and i see this all the time... The "deck" ( cd player) y ou have in your car... Most likely Just wont Play the files you have burned. ( in format ) Are they in Mp3 format? Try WMA.?--- Play around with your Cd burner see what its doing.

Installed new circuit board, and a new brake light switch, fuses are fine. Still no response to pedal. What else can it be? the lights work when hazards or alarm is activated also. back fuses are fine too. maybe its the wiring?

A: If all three brake lights are out. in the underhood fuse box ( ST/LP fuse # 12 25AMP ) this fuse feeds the brake light circuit. If the third brake light is working but the other two are not, or vise versa. In the rear fuse box under the left second row seat, fuse #16 10amp (center high mounted light) and fuse #34 15 amp ( L/R stop lamps ).

Q: Airbag Defect? 2005 Chevy Trailblazer?
My mom owns(ed) a 2005 chevy trailblazer. She has had the vehicle for roughly 3 years. In the 3 year time frame she has gotten into multiple accidents, the first- hitting a deer, the second- hitting a moose, the third- hitting a snow bank, and the fourth- hitting a telephone pole (which finally deemed the vehicle totaled.) In none of these accidents, however, did the airbag go off. I'm wondering if there is any sort of legal action that can be taken... It just doesn't seem right that after FOUR accidents the airbag still didn't go off... Thankfully she came out without any serious injuries, but I know it could have been a lot worse. Any ideas about this airbag defect? Anyone else had similar problems?

A: In most of the cases you are talking about its likely the sensors that trigger the airbag to go off would not have been hit. If they are not hit the airbag does not deploy. The new units have a sensor to call onstar if there is a jarring of the car. Its to bad the airbags didn't go off sooner the insurance company would have totaled it sooner.
