I'm looking at Chevy Trailblazer's and it says it has a 3rd row seat? So, only 5? Or is it like a bench seat and I can put my family of 6 in it? And, would you recommend this vehicle?

A: u have 2 back seats not much cargo room

Q: I have a 04 Chevy Trailblazer and there is a exhaust leak?
I have a 04 Chevy Trailblazer with the Inline - 6, there is a exhaust leak coming from near the exhaust manifold, Do these have problems with the manifold leaking or is it more than likely the gasket? So do I need to replace the gasket or both the gasket and the exhaust manifold? I know these have issues with this part of the exhaust system.

A: Have you gone to the dealer? I'm not positive, and it maybe different where you live, but the dealer has to warranty emissions parts for 7 years. (I checked online and some sites say 5, some say 10, but I have always heard 7 for emissions may be different for different cars or something) I would think the exhaust would be included. Again, I don't know for sure but I would find out. Unless of course you want to do it yourself... Sorry I didn't actually answer your question! Just thought I would mention that.

Q: Can I use Prestone® Extended Life Antifreeze/Coolant Coolant in my 2003 Chevy Trailblazer?
I want to flush and replace the coolant in my 2003 Chevy Trailblazer. Is it okay to replace it with Prestone® Extended Life Antifreeze/Coolant? I live overseas and the DexCool type is not available.

A: yeah thats fine

Q: What is the exhaust emission system on an 05 chevy trailblazer?
I need to know what and where the exhaust emission system is in a 2005 chevy trailblazer and is it caused from ther being to much oil.

A: How does an O2 sensor work? An Oxygen sensor is a chemical generator. It is constantly making a comparison between the Oxygen inside the exhaust manifold and air outside the engine. If this comparison shows little or no Oxygen in the exhaust manifold, a voltage is generated. The output of the sensor is usually between 0 and 1.1 volts. All spark combustion engines need the proper air fuel ratio to operate correctly. For gasoline this is 14.7 parts of air to one part of fuel. When the engine has more fuel than needed, all available Oxygen is consumed in the cylinder and gasses leaving through the exhaust contain almost no Oxygen. This sends out a voltage greater than 0.45 volts. If the engine is running lean, all fuel is burned, and the extra Oxygen leaves the cylinder and flows into the exhaust. In this case, the sensor voltage goes lower than 0.45 volts. Usually the output range seen seen is 0.2 to 0.7 volts. The sensor does not begin to generate it's full output until it reaches about 600 degrees F. Prior to this time the sensor is not conductive. It is as if the circuit between the sensor and computer is not complete. The mid point is about 0.45 volts. This is neither rich nor lean. A fully warm O2 sensor *will not spend any time at 0.45 volts*. In many cars, the computer sends out a bias voltage of 0.45 through the O2 sensor wire. If the sensor is not warm, or if the circuit is not complete, the computer picks up a steady 0.45 volts. Since the computer knows this is an "illegal" value, it judges the sensor to not be ready. It remains in open loop operation, and uses all sensors except the O2 to determine fuel delivery. Any time an engine is operated in open loop, it runs somewhat rich and makes more exhaust emissions. This translates into lost power, poor fuel economy and air pollution. The O2 sensor is constantly in a state of transition between high and low voltage. Manfucturers call this crossing of the 0.45 volt mark O2 cross counts. The higher the number of O2 cross counts, the better the sensor and other parts of the computer control system are working. It is important to remember that the O2 sensor is comparing the amount of Oxygen inside and outside the engine. If the outside of the sensor should become blocked, or coated with oil, sound insulation, undercoating or antifreeze, (among other things), this comparison is not possible. What will damage an O2 sensor? Home or professional auto repairs that have used silicone gasket sealer that is not specifically labeled "Oxygen sensor safe", "Sensor safe", or something similar, if used in an area that is connected to the crankcase. This includes valve covers, oil pan, or nearly any other gasket or seal that controls engine oil. Leaded fuel will ruin the O2 sensor in a short time. If a car is running rich over a long period, the sensor may become plugged up or even destroyed. Just shorting out the sensor output wire will not usually hurt the sensor. This simply grounds the output voltage to zero. Once the wiring is repaired, the circuit operates normally. Undercoating, antifreeze or oil on the *outside* surface of the sensor can kill it. See how does an Oxygen sensor work.

Q: Anyone else having problems with their 2003 chevy trailblazer's speedometer?
I just bought a used 2003 chevy trailblazer, and on the way home the speedometer just stop working and slowly went to read zero. Has anyone else had this problem?

A: There has been a large number of complaints on the speedometer problem you have now. Please call your local Chevy dealers service dept and ask the service manager to see the factory rep.As of now there is no recall on this problem. The more people that complain about this problem the more the factory will be forced to fix it.Best of luck.

Q: Trying to get more performance from a V6 Chevy Trailblazer?
I have an 06 Chevy Trailblazer and I am wondering if there is a way to increase the performance without tearing up the engine in 3 years. Question 2 How much do you think it would cost to put a 12 inch lift on it? Full suspension and everything.

A: My dad has the same car. He put a Superchip Program in his and it rolls. That inline 6 is pretty quick. You could do a cold air intake from AEM and Magnaflow exhaust but that really doesnt increase your HP much maybe 8 and it'll make that nice truck pretty loud but some people like that. Good Luck with the suspension lift. To save some money on that try a 3 inch body lift thats only about 400 bucks. That inline 6 is a pretty big engine a 4.2 liter if I remember right. A ford Triton V8 is a 4.6 liter. That isnt much bigger. And that programmer should give you about 17-20 HP thatll help you move those big tires

Q: I want to sell my 2004 Chevy Trailblazer, but am I going to lose money?
I understand the whole deal with everyone wanting more fuel efficient cars and all, but I think I am at a loss. I want to sell my 2004 Chevy Trailblazer, but from all the estimates I have seen- I am going to actually OWE money to the bank! In fact, we paid $33,000 for it, and they saying Private Party price is $19,000! What do I do? Hold on to it for another year, or get out while I still can? Thanks!

A: All new cars depreciate (lose value) rapidly in the first few years after purchase. Your situation is not unusual, but I don't think that selling your Trailblazer is the answer. Trading down to a smaller car may save you a few $$ in fuel mileage, but it would take a long time to pay back what you will lose by selling your Trailblazer for less than you owe on it. You're better off just holding on to the vehicle you have until it's paid for, and then go shopping for a more fuel efficient vehicle for your next one. While you're waiting, try to conserve fuel where ever you can with your present vehicle. Don't speed, plan your trips to do the least amount of driving possible, Keep the car's engine tuned up and operating as efficiently as it can. Good luck!

Q: How do you change front rotors on a 2002 chevy trailblazer (4wd)?
Can anyone please help me... how do you change front rotors on a 2002 chevy trailblazer?

A: Lisa, please listen, we've done hundreds of these. Remove the front wheels and place the truck on jack-stands. There's absolutely no need to remove the CV joint compression nut on the center of the wheel. It's got nothing to do with removing the rotors. The center bolt keeps the CV joint tight against the inner side of the press in wheel bearing You'll need a set of 1/2 drive metric sockets and a ratchet handle. #1. Remove the slider pins from the brake caliper brackets. there are two of these. Squeeze the piston back a tad inside of the brake caliper with a large C-clamp. Do this by placing the large C-clamp behind the caliper and place the screw end directly on the outer exposed brake pad. If you don't have a C-clamp. Sears has large Jorgenson slider bar C-clamps. #2. The caliper pulls straight off. Lay the caliper on an empty five gallon plastic pail or hang it up with a piece of wire so not to leave it suspended with the brake hose. #3. The caliper bracket must be removed next. I believe these two bolts are 18 mm. and are a bear to remove without a 16" breaker bar or a 16" half inch wartchet handle. I'm going to tell you right now these are tough to remove. Depending how rugged you are you may need a "cheater extension" ( piece of pipe) on the end of the wratchet or breaker bar When these two braket bolts are removed the rotor slides straight off. If it sticks the least bit a heavy dead blow hammer on the back side will pop them loose. When re-assembling everything be sure the slider pins are clean and re-grease them with synthetic brake grease. Good luck to ya, Wish you were here, whe have all tools necessary

Q: What's the best way to add HP and/or torque to a Chevy Trailblazer?
Simple as that. What's the best way to add more power, speed, muscle to a 2005 Chevy Trailblazer LT with an L6 Engine? Product names greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

A: There is no substitute for cubic inches! Throw out the L6 and put in a 586 Big Block.

Q: When i run the heater/AC in my 2002 Chevy Trailblazer and I come to a stoplight the car looses power. Help?
When i run the heater/AC in my 2002 Chevy Trailblazer and I come to a stoplight the car shakes and feels like it is losing power. It will shake, lose power, then power back up. It repeatedly does this process while I'm stopped. This only happens while the AC or heater is on and the car is not in motion, otherwise it runs fine. Anyone know what the problem could be? Is it easily and cheaply fixed?

A: There is a switch in the throttle linkage that is supposed to bring the idle up when the A/C is on. This is to compensate for the 10 hp drag of the A/C compressor at idle or stop. The engine is not making much horsepower when you are stopped, it doesn't need to, get it checked out!

Q: Will an 02 Chevy Trailblazer stereo plug into a 99 Cavalier?
Have a 99 cavalier. Needs a new stereo. Found one out of an 02-04 chevy trailblazer. I'm sure its the same size, but are the plugs the same?

A: Actually, the size and plugs are completely different, and the two radios work differently as well. The 99 Cavalier uses the old-style Chevrolet DIN+1/2 radio, activated by an accessory power wire in the radio harness. The Trailblazer uses the newer double-DIN radio, activated by data commands through the Class-II data bus system (which the Cavalier lacks). If you had a 2000+ Cavalier, the radio sizes and plugs would match; however, you'd need to have the built-in radio anti-theft system reset by a GM dealer before it would work. For your '99 Cavalier, you can look for a radio from a 95+ Chevy Lumina, a 98-02 Chevy S-10 pickup or Blazer (or GMC S-15 or Jimmy), or a 95-99 Monte Carlo. Those should be plug-and-play (though you still may run into problems with the Theftlock system).

Q: chevy trailblazer does anyone have any problems with theirs??
I have a chevy trailblazer 2007.. Everyone I talk to says it is nothing but junk and trouble. I have not had any problems.. Looking to see if anyone else has.

A: i heard the same thing about the newer ones. i drive a 2005, and have had no problems except backing up into a lexus with no damage to me!!! woohoo! i was told to stay away from them by a friend who's uncle works at chevy maintenence dealership but yeah.....it's a chevy....no problems! plus i had a 92 blazer before and ran to 170, 000 miles until it had electrical probs. my opinion is.....it will behave the way you take care of it.

Q: 04 chevy trailblazer radio installation?
I have a 04 chevy trailblazer and just bought a new radio/cd player to replace the factory one. it does not have onstar. So what do I have to buy in order to install it? I know I have to purchase a bracket but that about anything for the wiring?

A: you will need a harness for your trailblazer, and also probably need to purchase a seperate adapter, which i believe can run around $80 to keep your factory chimes, warnings and onstar working.
